After serving clients for more than 15 years and training new Professional Organizers, Organizing KC Owner Shawna Childers has developed an 8 week Professional Organizer Training Program that will walk you through the ins and outs of what it takes to become a successful Professional Organizer that keeps getting client referrals!
This 8 week Professional Organizer Training Program allows you to work one-on-one with Shawna weekly to develop and hone your professional organizing skills and business plan. Get the tools you need to understand how to best work with many different types of clients, grow your organizing business, and prepare you for roadblocks that might appear while working with clients.
This class is hosted on Google Classroom. Each week includes a video class and selected readings. Homework is required and will need to be finished before moving on to the next week’s topic.
Each week also includes one 30 minute meeting with Shawna to answer any questions or to help guide you to resources or more information.
This program can be flexible and completed at your own pace. If you need to take 2 or 3 weeks on a specific topic, that is ok! Meetings are scheduled with Shawna as you go.

Week ONE: Vision and Mission
Shawna will work with you to explore and define your vision while helping you create a concrete mission statement that encompasses your unique style and values.
Week TWO: Business Plan
Together we will create a professional business plan that incorporates your mission and outlines the specific facets of starting and running your own organizing business.
Week THREE: Marketing + Online Presence
Learn the best ways to attract potential organizing clients and engage with your online audience.
Week FOUR: Daily Operations
Learn what kind of daily habits to implement and different systems to use to support your businesses daily operations.
Week FIVE: Working with Clients
Understand the psychology of working with different personality types, what to do in certain situations and how to best communicate with your clients.
Week SIX: The Consultation
Learn about the different aspects of this vital component to organizing your clients, from planning a space to creating an easy-to-use action list.
Week SEVEN: Organizing Sessions
Learn how to conduct a successful organizing session from beginning to end, both the physical work and how to work with frustrated clients or how to adapt if things do not go as planned.
Week EIGHT: Following-Up
Understand different methods in following-up with clients and why building those relationships is key to a thriving business.
