A Craft Room Rediscovered – Part 4

Some projects are big.  They may have to be done in phases.  But I love the process.  Bit by bit.  Little by little. We chip away on them.  We see change here and then there.   I have been so fortunate to have yet another great client!  She has allowed me to get done what I can and has not had unrealistic expectations.  And so here is the sum of what she has had to put up with after emptying the various sections of her craft room…. There it is!  The things that have come out and haven’t made it back…

A Craft Room Rediscovered Part 3

Session 3 in a busy little craft room.   Today I had another surface that needed clearing. Okay, not JUST a surface but it was the major priority!  Can you see it?  Let’s do this thing!  There was lots of sorting that went on and a LOT of items that just went straight into the trash!  Along with that area, I also worked on the under the table space of a previous session.  I just plain ran out of time and so when I returned I knew that this would be valuable space asset if used properly. With this small space, various…

Tupperware and Troubled Corners

I absolutely love our clients! They really are the best! When I arrived this client had already pretty much emptied the cabinets of all her tupperware! So we got started right away matching lids with containers. That’s what you spend most of your time doing in a tupperware cabinet, right, finding the lid? This step of putting your lids on your container saves you so much time later!  This client also had no problem letting go of excess items, the donate box got pretty big in a hurry!   I love to see that!  Let it go, let it go….…

A Craft Room Rediscovered – Part 2

I had been to this craft room before!  And I was ready for another phase of getting it back to functioning for a busy mama! The last session we worked on clearing floor space and getting a lot of items out of the room.  Today it was time to clear a sewing area! Today was the day! This time there was room in the craft room to do the sorting.  My first priority was to get the counters cleared off enough to see what was inside those cabinets.  The set of cabinets on the left were full of fabrics that…

A Craft Room Rediscovered

Most of the time when I show up to do an organize session my clients will apologize for the state of the area I am about to help them with.   My client for this session apologized profusely on the way to her craft room.  She admitted that it not only had been neglected for some time but that when she had gone in to try to clean it out she would become overwhelmed and leave extremely frustrated!   When I found out how many children she has I completely understood!!!   And I was very excited to get started!  I understand…

Unpacking a Catch-All Garage

When moving, we all have that one last space that often acts as a dumping ground for the stuff we aren’t quite sure what to do with ey. A lot of the times that space ends up being the garage. This newly combined family had just moved and had slowly been unpacking their garage which had become the catch-all from their move. A lot of what was in the garage was garage-related stuff like camping, sports equipment, tools, and boating supplies. Each of those areas were sorted into piles and while going through the contents, we were able to donate…

Catch-All Office Organize

This office organize started out just clearing space and shuffling some furniture around.   My client was extremely busy and had experienced many recent life changes, saying that this room had become a catch-all for a lot of different things!  After we moved a book case, I was able to put a box of books onto the shelves that eliminated one box. Empty drawers by the desk provided me with the opportunity to take a tub of office supplies and make them readily available for use. The closets in the office were storing extra clothing that did not fit in the…
